The Magnolia May Lookback
May, what a great month this was! We had our rainy days as well as sunny days, which brought some heat. We had some fantastic musical performances by some of The Magnolia’s favorite performers. The first musicians to play for us this month was the Larsen Family, who helped us kick May off the right way with some fun songs and all around good music. Next up we had Aaron and Boaz Mecham who played some fantastic songs from multiple decades on their violins and our piano. Rick Bruening and Russ Keyser also came on separate occasions to play some folk and rock music on their guitars.
Food was something our residents engaged in this month with trips to Meeder’s Restaurant in Ripley for some good ol’ American meals, and to La Cucina Della Nonna in Jamestown where everyone enjoyed Italian dishes for dinner. We enjoyed a delicious Memorial Day Lunch with some delicious Fireman’s BBQ Chicken, potato salad, vegetable salad, and juicy watermelon.
We had other special things that went on this month, such as our trip to the breathtaking Kinzua Dam. Russ Payne who is running for town Supervisor here in Frewsburg, paid us a visit and spent time talking to the residents about his plans for our town. Towards the end of the month we had a bunch of kids from local churches spend time with us during our morning exercise and ball toss and coffee house. Bringing our events for May to a close was the Memorial Day Parade here in Frewsburg, which everybody enjoyed watching and some of our veteran’s rode in.
Next month we’ll be having many more great things happening, plus we’ll be entering summer! Woohoo! If you have any questions contact Jordan in Activities at 716-569-3095 Ext. 6714 or email at [email protected]
