The Magnolia September Look Back

September has been a month filled with fun and exciting things here at the Magnolia!

This month we participated in some fun activities. Some of our traditional favorites include ladder ball, bucketball, bean bag toss, bingo, Boggle, and zonk! We have been busy crafting this month as we decorated our activities room with homemade fall decorations. We also baked some cookies and some apple pie cinnamon bread that was delicious!

We had multiple great performances by great musicians. Our first entertainer was Cindy Sue and she put on a wonderful show! Next we had Russ Keyser put on a show for us and we were all very impressed. Mike Dennehy also performed for us and we were all able to sing along!

In the month of September, we were also able to go on a couple of adventures. We went to Ecklof’s Bakery in Jamestown and ate some tasty food. We also went to Abers Acres in Kennedy where we got some fresh apples and fresh fruit. With our fresh apples, we had Ryan S. bring in his homemade apple cider press for all of the residents to witness apple cider making. Some residents even operated the apple cider press to make their own apple cider. All of the residents thought the final product was perfect! Towards the end of the month, some of our residents had the chance to go to dinner at the new restaurant in Jamestown, Jimmy’s.

Some other highlights of September included our root beer float party that a lot of our residents were thrilled about. We also had our birthday party to celebrate all of our residents who have a birthday in September, not to mention some delicious birthday cupcakes!

We are looking forward to the month of October as e have some big plans. We are planning a Fall Festival that will take place on October 10th. We are also planning to play some pumpkin bowling, pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin bean bag toss, and some other October related games. We are so excited to see what fun October will bring!
