Field of Dreams December Look Back

What a joyful, busy and festive December here at Field of Dreams! We kicked off the month with a wonderful performance by Richard Pensyl. We also welcomed the very talented, Olean Barbershop with their festive A Capella, holiday covers. The Allegany Alumni Band, an instrumental group, blew us away with wonderful sounds of the Christmas season. We welcomed the Bel Canto Choir, a group of both Juniors and Senior students, as well as the BOCES student choir, followed by a fun craft. Our little friends at My Sunshine School, put on an adorable caroling session and celebrated their hard work with some yummy cookies and punch.

We welcomed special guests, members of the American Allegany Legion Charles Harbel Post 892, as they gave our Veteran residents wonderful gifts as well as some delicious homemade cookies. We enjoyed some cute polar bear cookies during our December Tea Party. We ate some adorable reindeer cupcakes during our December Birthday Party and had some cookies and Eggnog during our Christmas morning celebration. We ended the year with a New Year’s Eve party with some cheese and cracker platters and sparkling cider.

We welcomed Pat and her therapy dogs as they showed off their talents with some neat tricks. Our residents had a blast with our indoor snowball fight, and enjoyed a competitive and entertaining trivia challenge during our Poke A Tree game. Our Christmas Photo Booth did not disappoint with jolly and silly photos. We enjoyed Christmas Eve with a cozy story reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and the Christmas Story and hot cocoa, by our large fireplace in our bistro.

Our residents here at Field of Dreams enjoyed some fun outings this month. We took a ride to see the Christmas Lights around town, visited Ollie’s for a ‘shop till you drop’ spree and enjoyed some delicious Apple-bee’s take out.

After our Meet and Greet with Santa, a memorable first Christmas with many merry and bright faces on Christmas day, it’s safe to say our first December here at Field of Dreams was a huge success. We are looking forward to the new year and are excited to making many more memories and friends to come.
