Field of Dreams April Look Back
What a month we had in April! With the finicky weather, we didn’t let that stop our fun festivities we’ve had.
We had wishful thinking for our first outdoor Easter Egg Hunt, here at Field of Dreams, but due to April showers, we got creative with a competitive indoor Easter Egg Hunt. With fun prizes of chocolate bunnies, scratch off tickets, and a grand prize of a large basket with many Spring and Easter themed goods, fun was had by all!
Although we couldn’t be joined with family this Easter, we made sure it was a memorable one between residents and staff. Residents were treated with a fun Easter social, with delicious donuts made from a local bakery!
Take-Out was a crowd favorite with residents ordering from Taco Bell and KFC in the beginning of April and to the Bird Cage Restaurant, the last week. Good food, good company, happy tummies!
Painting with Jessica, Activities Director was a proud moment for our ladies. They created a tranquil scene of a daisy field. We also created some wonderful creations during our craft club, as residents created jeweled sun catchers and floral mason jars, the creative juices were flowing.
Baking group was also full of decadent treats. On National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day, our baking group baked up some delicious pineapple upside down cupcakes. They were out of this world! The group also baked an assortment of cookies, chocolate chip, macademia nut, turtle, and even made Spring M&M sugar cookies. YUM!
Our monthly favorites still held strong this month as we played Bingo, Hangman, Finish the Saying, Trivia, Balloon Volleyball, Stories from a Hat, and Catchphrase to name a few. Our Garden Club has worked really hard at their green thumbs and have planted herbs and a selection of vegetables for our Dietary staff to use in the upcoming months. Our Silver Sneakers walking group, has taken the nice, sunny days to take advantage to walk outdoors when its feasible, better yet, just enjoy the fresh air!
We continue to keep a positive mindset throughout this pandemic. We look forward to better weather to continue on with the fresh air and constant socialization to keep each other company.
We look forward to what May has to bring for us! If you have any questions or comments for upcoming activities, please contact Jessica Paprocki, Activities Director at (716)543-4200, extension 4215, or email at [email protected]lewoodfieldofdreams.com.
