Comfort Today November look back
This month we take a moment to pause and give thanks for everything that we are grateful for. Tanglewood Group wanted to show their appreciation for our Veterans and their service. We hosted a Veteran’s Day luncheon and our Veterans received Certificates of Appreciation and sugar cookie favors to let them know how special they are.
During the month of November, Comfort Today paired with the Blue Star Mothers (who provide our soldiers with care packages for Christmas) as a donation drop off site. A big thank you to all that participated for your support! We would like to express our gratitude for all our Veterans that have served and for all of our military that are currently serving!
Because our members live in their own homes, Comfort Today arranged a presentation by the Doyle Medical Monitoring group. This group offers a variety of personal emergency response units that allow people to live in the comfort of their own home while feeling safe and secure. The goal of Comfort Today is to help our members to stay safe, healthy, and as physically, and socially active as possible.
Although we were closed on Thanksgiving Day, we celebrated the holiday by having our own Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, stuffing, green beans, and pumpkin pie. Some of our members live alone, so it was extra special to share a Thanksgiving meal with family and friends. Thank you to our Dietary department who provided such a wonderful meal for us!
We ended the month with an outing to Olive Garden. This outing (no cost to our members) was made possible by the very generous donation by an anonymous donor. Because our members tend to have limited incomes, this was a unique treat for our members! Comfort Today is always thankful to those extraordinary people who share their talents, time, and kindness with our program.
We are looking forward to all the fun-filled holiday celebrations that we have ahead of us in December!
