Tanglewood Manor August Look Back
As August and the summer season comes to an end, us at Tanglewood Manor look back at the fun filled month and season during which many fond memories were made! August began with Old Dawg Blue Grass playing for the summer concert series in our park on a beautiful evening.
The following week, residents, staff and family members participated in our Annual Fishing Tournament, competing to see who could catch the largest fish out in our Louis Ferreri Memorial Park. Our dietary staff topped off an already great day with a delicious picnic of fresh off the grill BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, macaroni salad, and cherry pie for dessert! Even if the fish weren’t biting for everyone, everybody had some fun!
Following a great start to the month, we were continuously on the move throughout mid-August enjoying the long, beautiful days and warm evenings. A yummy visit to Big Tree Ice Cream was the perfect addition to a hot summer afternoon. A trip to Off the Beaten Path Bookstore in Lakewood, a men’s group lunch at Five Guy’s Burgers and another at the Olive Garden were also on our agenda.
Back at Tanglewood Manor, the ladies enjoyed some delicious cheese-cupcakes during our monthly Ladies Tea Party and a week later a local ice cream truck stopped by with some sweet treats making for a perfect evening. Our Resident Art Show was another fun afternoon during which all residents submitted their favorite artistic creations to be showcased in our main lounge. Looking at the beautiful pieces made throughout the year during our residents’ craft club, and also creations made in their spare time was a real treat!
We finished out the summer with concerts by the Lake Erie Banjo Jammers, next the Dixie Doodlers and an end of summer BBQ as a good bye to one of our favorite seasons. We will miss our warm summer days in the Louis Ferreri Memorial Park and around town, but we are excited to welcome the fall season and all the fun it will bring in the months to come.
