Tanglewood Manor Update, November ’17
Because Living is What Life is all About.
As snowflakes start to fall and the garland begins to be hung, we anticipate another month to follow November’s values with many reasons to be thankful.
The month of November began by wrapping up our final Fall Educational Series presentation on “Optimal Balance” which discussed ways to improve and increase balance as we age. A few new faces of entertainment stopped in for a wonderful afternoon of great music and even better company, including Gabriella Caruso and the band Serendipity. Gabriella is the daughter of one of our summer favorites – The Happy Days Band, and put on a show just as fun and entertaining as her parents!
We celebrated Veterans Day this year with our annual luncheon at Comfort Today. Tanglewood Group residents and Comfort Today clients were served a special lunch menu prepared by dietary staff. On Saturday, November 11th Veterans were also given homemade chocolate chip cookies made by our very own baking group at Tanglewood. Giving back to the brave heroes who fought for our freedom was an awarding experience above all.
The Golden Gems went to Zion Covenant Preschool for a performance based on children’s music including BINGO, I’ve Been Working on the Railroad, and Take Me Out to the Ball Game. Our audience was both very enthusiastic and energetic as they sang along, we almost had more fun watching the kids dance than we did performing!
Thanksgiving came as a day full of gratitude and appreciation for the people, moments and possessions we have in our lives. Dinner was a delicious treat of sliced turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie for dessert. A feast enjoyed by all, we are blessed to spend another Thanksgiving dinner with our friends and family by our side.
