Tanglewood Manor May Look Back

What a fun month we’ve had here at Tanglewood Manor! With beautiful flowers and trees in full bloom, we have kept busy and inching toward a beautiful summer.

Here at Tanglewood Manor, we started off the month with our Garden Club, where we planted some fun perennials, sunflowers, and some delicious vegetables we can use right here in our very own kitchen for all to enjoy. We welcomed the Larsen Family to our home with a fun, youthful and very talented concert. We enjoyed the sounds of the harmonica and fun joke telling with Angelo, and the ever so fun-factual, musical performance by Rick Bruening. Our Golden Gems conducted a joyful performance at Frewsburg Rest Home, as well as right here at Tanglewood Manor.  The residents here at Tanglewood Manor were moved by the talented group of Zion Children, as they showed off their amazing skills with chimes, piano, and beautiful voices. We also enjoyed the adult group from the Zion Bell Choir and their wonderful sounds. We had a blast listening to the country styles of Bart and Bumpy, as well as the bluegrass duo Davis and Eng.

Our residents at Tanglewood Manor kept their bellies full with outings to our favorite Dean’s Diner. We ventured to Portville to Sprague’s Maple Farms and couldn’t help but bring home leftovers from the heaping plates we ordered. We honored mothers with a yummy mini cheesecake delight during our Mother’s Day Tea and couldn’t help but have a slice of melt in your mouth, chocolate fudge brownie cake during our Resident Birthday Party out on our patio. We hosted a Take Out Tuesday and enjoyed delicious Chinese food.

We had a fun and eventful Memorial Day Picnic, as we thanked all those who have served our great nation. We traveled to Italy during our Armchair Travels, where we enjoyed a movie based in Italy and gobbled up some home made pizza rolls and Italian cream soda.

During our baking groups, we kept it festive with our Cinco De Mayo cookies that looked like cute little sombreros, spring candy bark, chocolate dipped pretzels, and homemade coconut macaroon blossoms. YUM!  Craft club is always a favorite way to get creative here at Tanglewood Manor. We had fun making our own artistic version of a cherry blossom tree, bunny bottom plant accessories, and some cute little butterflies.

We are so excited for what we have in store for June and to kick off a fun-filled summer. With our concert series kicking off and some good sunshine, we cannot wait for the months ahead! Please don’t hesitate to join us at any of our upcoming activities and check out all the fun we have in store on our events calendar!
