Memory Garden May Look Back
May brought us beautiful weather and a lot of great times, starting with our Cinco De Mayo party held in the Soda Shoppe. Residents celebrated the right way with music, tacos and delicious juice to get us into the spirit. Only a few days after our festivities we jumped right in to a beach party with authentic décor and delicious grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. We keep the beach balls rolling as we enjoyed our Take out Thursday from Applebees and celebrated the wonderful ladies in our lives with a tasty Mother’s Day Brunch.
We decided to clean our garden box out and start growing some vegetables. We had a wonderful trip to Brigiotta’s were the residents picked out what veggies they wanted to nurture and bring to life in the courtyard. That same week we enjoyed a trip to the Fenton Museum where we had a guided tour from one of our own residents whom use to actually give tours at the museum.
We ended out the month with a great Memorial Day picnic in the Louis Ferreri Memorial Park. Our Chef made a great meal of BBQ Fireman’s Chicken, potato salad, broccoli salad, and juicy watermelon for dessert! Family, friends and residents had a wonderful time together and are looking forward to hosting our next picnic. The following morning we had breakfast at Friendly’s and had a great conversation about life and good hard work.
May has been a very busy month at Memory Garden! We broke out the Golf Carts and started back with the cart rides which everyone was looking forward to. As this month comes to a close, we remember all of the exciting activities we look forward to this June! We have outings to The Audubon Society, a trip to Rib Fest, as well as making a trip to the Air Museum in downtown Jamestown. We are ready to make another trip to visit the Alpacas at Alpacaville in Bemus Point. We even are going to attend a seminar about our local butterflies at Long Point.
We are definitely excited to have another great month, and we hope that you can come out and enjoy some of our activities we have planned. Maybe the Cheese Festival or the Ice Cream Social, who can say no to Ice Cream?!
Hope to see you there!
