Memory Care Households June Look Back
What a busy month we’ve had here in the Memory Care Households! Some major events that took place in the units were our concerts which consisted of Kristen and Darren where we got to meet their new baby, the Band Anastazja, Angelo, Dave Johnson, the Barbara Jean Duo, and as always, our very own Golden Gems in the Park. We also had a great time at the monthly ladies tea party, birthday party, and various outings.
Unfortunately, most of our scheduled golf cart times were either taken up by rain storms or construction going on in the parking lot. That is one activity we will need to wait just a little while longer for. We did however enjoy many days of nice weather by having various activities on the porch! We enjoyed sunshine with lemonade and ice cream as well as bingo, reading, the June birthday party, name 5, and coloring on the patio to name a few! Our arm chair travel destination this month was India with some Indian food being served and a movie to go along with the theme. On Father’s Day, we had lots of family join us for “Donuts with Dad” and a lunch prepared by Chef Travis that consisted of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and cherry pie! We sure are spoiled here!
We began the month with a trip to the Jamestown Ice Arena for a walk around the track and then ended with a hot fudge sundae! The ladies who participated really enjoyed getting out of the house, especially since there was ice cream involved! We had another trip for ice cream later in the month when a different group went for ice cream at the Bemus Point Market. Again, this was a well-received outing and we will certainly be taking another trip there in the future! Lunch at Ecklof’s Bakery in Jamestown was delicious as always and next month we are looking forward to breakfast at Friendly’s for our outing. Next month, we again have a wonderful line up of concerts headed our way. We are very excited to hear from the Golden Gems, the KoKoMo Time Band, and the Steve Strickland Duo. We also have an antique car show coming as well as the fourth of July Picnic, Arm Chair Travels, the monthly birthday and tea party and a Hawaiian Photo Booth! The month of July will be very busy but we don’t mind when it is packed with fun events!
