Memory Care Household July Look Back
What a busy month we’ve had here in the Memory Care Households!
We had so many great events that took place! July has certainly flown by but we were able to enjoy a Fourth of July picnic with all of our friends under the pavilion. We also celebrated the July birthdays while listening to Angelo play us some music and slurping on root beer floats! The other bands we got to listen to this month were the Golden Gems, Kokomo Time Band, Steve Strickland Duo the Larson Family and Lucille Shurkus. We always love when our friends come to perform for us.
Some other big events we got to enjoy were outings to the Jamestown Audubon to watch a bird banding class and breakfast at Friendlys. Both wings really loved our trips this month! We learned a lot at the bird banding class and a few of the residents were brave enough to pet some of the birds we had caught. 
We also had a Hawaiian photo booth while enjoying Pina coladas to celebrate national Pina colada day! At the ladies tea party this month, we had special visitors come in to read us a few stories! The ladies really loved getting to hear the young girls read to them! 
Both girls shared a story and then gave us a drawing lesson. We had everything from pictures to Santa and a tree to self-portraits! It really was a blast!
At this month’s arm chair travel group, we went to Canada. We enjoyed maple donuts while watching a fascinating video of a man who gave us a tour all around the land and some of its provinces. We spent a week towards the end of July taking part in facility wide Olympic challenges. Shuffle board, corn hole, and ring toss were the main events and we even had a few of our very own MCH residents come out at winners! To end the month, a few of us took a trip out to the pond to watch some fishing. That brought back some great memories for all of us!
Next month, we again have a wonderful line up of concerts and 
events headed our way. We are very excited to hear from the Golden Gems, Saved by Grace, Happy Days and Rick Bruening. We also have an outing to get ice cream at big tree and drive around the lake as well as a wild life photography presentation, senior citizen day social and end of the summer BBQ. We can’t wait for all the fun to continue!
