Memory Garden July Look Back
July was a very interesting month full of great trips as well as great activities right here at home. The weather being as hot as it was and jumping around with all this rain kept us indoors more then we would of liked however that didn’t mean we couldn’t enjoy ourselves just the same. We kept ourselves hydrated and pushed on with the outings and activities.
Every chance we got we jumped on the golf carts and took rides around the Louis Fererri Memorial Park, we even enjoyed a scavenger golf cart ride where we looked for certain items on our list as we rode around. The only item that seemed to elude us was the squirrel! We did see a baby fox however.
We had to reschedule our Summerwind cruise due to weather, however we enjoyed going out to eat at Pizza Hut and Betsy’s 5 Corner Kitchen. We also took time out one evening to enjoy a outing to the Reg Lenna were we watched the movie “Tully”. It was nice to get out and enjoy the movie theaters. We didn’t have to go far to quench our music thirst we enjoyed many great concerts this month. We had Angelo playing his harmonicas and giving us his great stories and jokes, as well as the great music of Don Sandy during our weekly coffee houses of course, but we also enjoyed music from Saved By Grace, Lucille Shurkus, and Cindy Sue. The Concert in the Park series kept us up and tapping our feet with great music from the KoKoMo Time Band as well as The Steve Strickland Duo.
With all the great fun July brought we are looking forward to everything we have coming up in August. The Concert in the Park Series keeps trucking along with music from The Lake Erie Banjo Jammers, The Old Dawg Blue Grass Band, and The Happy Days Band. We also will be having our annual fishing tournament in the park with cash prizes for the winners. Michael Dennehy will be back to have us singing all the old country music the residents love as well as music by Rick Bruening. We will finally get to enjoy our trip on the Summer wind as well our trip to Alpacaville. Smores will be served around the campfire while Spencer plays his guitar and our monthly visit from Angelo as well as Don Sandy is always something to look forward to.
We will bring the month to a close as well as The Concert in the Park Series saying good bye to summer with our End of Summer BBQ. Of course we will have our outings and indoor activities as well. Visiting the Bemus Point Inn for lunch, and enjoying our monthly Take out Thursday and chair travel to Italy. Tea time with Jill is always a warm welcome as well as many other activities and just enjoying each other’s company. Please feel free to come out and join us anytime you like.
