Comfort Today a look back at August 2018
What a better way to start August than by celebrating National Homemade Pie Day with peanut butter pie from Farm Fresh Foods. One bite, and you know that you have never tasted anything quite as rich as that before.
Comfort Today took a trip to watch the Lakewood Starz gymnastic team at the YMCA. We were amazed at the talent that the girls possessed. They are twelve years old, and did more flips across the mats than we could keep track of. We were especially excited when some of the girls could walk across the floor using their hands.
We enjoyed the Annual Fishing Tournament and BBQ in the Louis Ferreri Park. We had some rain, but it didn’t keep us from having fun. Our director joined in on the fun, and caught a fish. The BBQ ribs and corn on the cob were a special treat, making the picnic extra special.
As far as our craft projects, we excitedly completed our potato jewelry necklaces, and made some popsicle stick photo frames. We had fun taking pictures for Best Friends Day, and plan to put those pictures into our frames to take home.
We got half way through our outdoor concert featuring The Happy Days Band before the rain came. We had a lot of fun drying off, and laughing about how quickly we got wet.
Although we have had a lot of rain this month, we have enjoyed some beautiful weather when we have walked at the Town of Ellery Park. We hope to take a few more walks there in the early fall.
Comfort Today had fun hosting some Tanglewood friends for our first meeting of the Croquet club. Everyone was so excited to be the winner that we fell a little behind schedule for lunch time.
We were excited to take another outing to the Springs Restaurant this month. We enjoy sitting on the patio, and taking in the last moments of the summer season.
Although we hate to see summer time come to an end, we look forward to all the new activities that the fall weather will bring.
