Memory Care Households October Look Back
What a busy month we’ve had here in the Memory Care Households! Some major events that took place in the units were concerts, parties, outings, and many other great events! The bands that we heard from this month were the Kings Express, Darren & Kristen, the Larsen Family, and Davis & Eng. We always love getting to enjoy the local talent throughout the month. In addition, we took an outing to Whittier Apple Farms, an apple farm located in Blockville. They had the most amazing apple cider slushies’ and that paired with an apple cider donut, from Ecklofs Bakery, made for one perfect afternoon on the town. We also took a trip to Crown Street Roasting Company and Harvest Time Café both located on Third Street in Jamestown. A few of the residents got to reminisce walking that street to work every day. One of the residents even recalls developing pictures in a building not far from the cafes. We always love moments when we get the chance to remember “the good ole days”.
We had two residents with birthdays this month which we celebrated with Tanglewood while Angelo played some music for us. The treat at the birthday party was a monster cookie cake. Not only was it scary but also delicious! Halloween sure was a delight for us this whole month. We had two Halloween themed photo booths, Halloween themed games, candy corn crafts, we made our own spooky dirt to eat, decorated pumpkins, and topped it all off with a Halloween party and costume contest! The best part of Halloween was getting to see the preschoolers when they came over for a parade to show us their costumes. Finally, we congratulated Peggy S. on being the resident of the month!
Next month we are looking forward to more concerts, outings, and good time with great friends. As we welcome colder weather and more time indoors, you will have to check out our facebook page for the fall crafts we’ll be making, a fall photo booth, pumpkins pies and much more! We can’t wait to share all the fun with you!
