Tanglewood Manor November Look Back

What an absolute blast we’ve had this November! Here at Tanglewood Manor, we kicked off this thankful season, with a wonderful patriotic performance by our Golden Gems as they sang songs in honor of all of our veterans who have served. We welcomed back Michael Dennehy as he performed some fun favorites. We also heard songs of worship and old classics by the Kings Express, danced and sang along with Lucille Shurkus and tapped our feet as we listened to Bart and Bumpy, as they performed some blue grass tunes. Saved by Grace is always a favorite with their hymnal ballads and adored the talented Larsen family. Due to the frightful weather we’re getting lately, one of our favorites, Angelo was not able to make it this month, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying a fun November birthday party!

During our birthday party, we enjoyed a delicious cookie cake instead of the traditional birthday cake. We also put our baking skills to work and made some yummy pizza rolls! They were so easy to make and there wasn’t a crumb left! In honor of our veterans, this Veteran’s day, they were spoiled, which was well deserved. The ladies and gentleman of Tanglewood who served our great country received a wonderful luncheon that consisted of sirloin, baked potato, green beans, apple pie and a yummy “Thank you” sugar cookie. They also received a certificate and thank you card from all of us at Tanglewood. Thanksgiving was a feast for all to enjoy, as our wonderful kitchen and activities staff served a turkey dinner, with green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie! Many took a good nap after that meal. For a belated fun baking session, the ladies and gentleman in our baking group made cute cinnamon roll turkeys! Brunch anyone?

We also enjoy our monthly outings here at Tanglewood. We took a stop to Alfie’s and none of us left hungry! Many splurged and got steak, or a nice plate of chicken parmesan and we couldn’t forget about dessert! We marveled over their delicious red velvet cheesecake. To keep our Thanksgiving theme going, we played our new favorite game of Poke a Turkey Trivia! We also got festive and played Thanksgiving Jeopardy, Thanksgiving Hangman, and also enjoyed some short stories from our Chicken Soup for the Soul books and some nice hot cocoa.

With this wonderful holiday season approaching, we are so happy to say so far, its been a joyful time here at Tanglewood Manor. We are so excited for our busy upcoming December, filled with lots of wonderful performances and activities. Please join us as we celebrate this Christmas!
