Memory Care Households December Lookback

Well it’s that time of the year again!  We have had so much fun getting ready for the Christmas season.  It seems hard to believe that another year has come and gone already.  We are lucky that we were able to spend it doing loads of fun activities and surrounded by great company!

Some major events that took place in the units were parties, crafts, sing-alongs and more!  In fact, we had a concert almost every day of the month! Some of the bands that we heard from included the Kokomo Band, the Vikings Chorus, Russ Keiser, Angelo, Darren & Kristen Lambert, the Ellington Baptist Church, Michael Dennehy, King’s Express, the Golden Gems, Davis & Eng, the Larsen Family, Sue Tillotson, Stan Barton & Steve Davis, Nan Hoffman, and Saved by Grace.  WOW! The entertainment for the month was simply outstanding!  Aside from the concerts, we were also visited by some very special guests!  Santa came to visit a little early this year and dropped off some presents for the residents.  We even had some carolers come from local churches, come to help pass out gifts they had brought.  What a treat!  Another special visitor we got to see was Nick Ferreri, the owner of Tanglewood.  He hosted a bowling, shuffle board, and pool tournament for the residents throughout our Christmas Spirit week.

We topped off the holiday season by making glitter snow slime, singing carols by the fire place with hot chocolate, and watching plenty of holiday movies.  On Christmas Eve, we had a popcorn bar and watched the Charlie Brown Christmas special.  Oh how we love our popcorn!  And, although there hasn’t been a lot of snow this December, we did still play a few new snow themed games and they were a blast!  You will have to come visit us next month to see what we’re talking about!  While you’re here, you can help Dean M. celebrate being chosen as this month’s resident of the month!

Next month we are looking forward to more concerts, outings to various coffee shops around the Jamestown area, and good times with great friends.  As we welcome colder weather and more time indoors, you will have to check out our Facebook page for the crafts we’ll be making, desserts well be baking, and much more!  We can’t wait to share all the fun with you!

As always we extend our warmest welcome to all of you to come and join us for all the fun that we have planned for the month of January here in the Memory Care Households. Happy New Year!
