Tanglewood Manor December Look Back
Wow!! What a December we’ve had!! Our days were full of laughter and cheer as we welcomed back our friend Katlynn, who helped teach us to decorate sugar cookies. Boy were they delicious! We enjoyed adorable reindeer cupcakes and sipped on some yummy punch during our December Birthday Party. We had an outing to one of our favorite restaurants, Davidson’s and decorated some adorable Gingerbread houses in honor of the Christmas season. We had some crunchy yet sweet chocolate covered pretzel rods after our Golden Gems concert as well as a fun popcorn bar on Christmas Eve. Our sweet tooth’s were strong as we enjoyed plenty of sweet treats all month long!
Here at Tanglewood Manor, we definitely had our share of entertainment all month. It was the most we had in a while! We welcomed back one of our favorite bands, Kokomo Band as they kicked off the month with a very entertaining performance. We danced and sang the night away! We also welcomed Viking Chorus, Russ Keyser, Angelo, during our birthday party, Darren and Kristen Lambert, Ellington Baptist Church as they performed a nice Christmas Cantata. We also enjoyed other performances by King’s Express, Davis and Eng, the Larsen family, Sue Tillotson and her violin accompaniment, Stand Barton and Steve Davis, a sing along with Spencer Drake, Saved By Grace and were proud Tanglewood Members as our Golden Gems performed at the Chautauqua Mall. Boy were we busy!!!
Our friend at Comfort Today invited some of our ladies to part take in a yarn giveaway. Needless to say, our ladies that crochet have a nice collection of yarn and will be busy for a while. We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Lights Drive and rode around to see all of the beautiful light décor on houses all throughout the neighborhoods. We also welcomed home our owner, Nick Ferreri as he competed against a couple residents in our traditional Bowling and Pool Tournament. Our residents got to enjoy Armchair Travels, where we ventured to Poland. We watched an artistic video of music and dance of Poland. We also enjoyed some real Polish treats, Chrusciki(Crew-she-key) which are a light dough cookie with light powdered sugar and some hot coffee. All of the crumbs were even enjoyed!!
We played our favorite game of Poke a Tree. Our fun trivia game where if you guess the answer correctly, you poke through the tissue in the cup and claim your prize! We had a wonderful tea party with some tea biscuits and cookies. We even painted a beautiful winter scene with Jill. On Christmas Eve we watched Charlie Brown Christmas, and listened to the story of The Night Before Christmas while sipping on hot cocoa. We received wonderful gifts from Zion Covenant, Lakewood Baptist and Church on the Rock. As well as got a special gift from Santa himself!
