Memory Care Households January Lookback
Happy New Year! What an awesome start to 2019 we have had! We left 2018 going a mile a minute and it would seem the New Year has the same amount of energy and fun in store. We began the month with our birthday party. Angelo’s music was terrific as always and he brought along some new jokes for us! We had FOUR residents with birthdays this month!! Ruth M., Alicia O., Joan P., and Mabel U., were celebrated as well as all the other Tanglewood residents with birthdays! Of course, we’ll take any excuse we can get to eat cake and ice cream!
We had two outings this month for coffee. One of the shops we visited was Harvest Time Café in Jamestown. Judi always serves us a delicious cup of coffee, plus we got to top that visit off with a stop at Tim Hortons for a donut. Who could beat donuts and coffee?! The second visit we had was to Crown Street Roasting Company, also located in Jamestown. They had delicious coffee as well and giant chocolate chip cookies! One of our friends tried their raspberry hot chocolate and it hit the spot.
We made lots of crafts this winter season including a sparkly polar bear decoration and we painted snowflakes using powdered sugar and water. We also had a few baking groups where we made sugar cookies and peanut butter balls. We even had a pizza party hosted by our very own Ricki! She takes such good care of us! The concerts this month were Kings Express, Rick Bruening, Cindy Sue, and Lucille Shurkus. They always blow us away with their talent! We went to Sweden with our arm chair travels group and congratulated Marlene W. on being the resident of the month.
Next month we are looking forward to more concerts, outings to various coffee shops around the Jamestown area, and good times with great friends. As we welcome colder weather and more time indoors, you will have to check out our Facebook page for the crafts we’ll be making, desserts well be baking, and much more! We can’t wait to share all the fun with you!
