Tanglewood Manor February Look Back
Residents and staff sure were feeling the love here this month! We kicked off the month of February with a nice Superbowl party filled with meatballs, potato chips, and punch. We had a Valentine themed baking group each week. We made homemade heart shaped pizzas, strawberry milkshake cookies, strawberry truffle cookies, and ended with some chocolate dipped pretzels and graham crackers. With the Chinese New Year the day before our birthday celebration, we had yummy and moist Chinese fortune cookie cupcakes. The residents sure did get a kick out of being able to read their fortunes! For Valentine’s day we celebrated with some delicious Cupid Floats and cookies.
We danced the whole month through while enjoying music by Angelo Alaimo, Russ Keiser, Saved By Grace, Bart and Bumpy, Cindy Sue, Darren and Kristen Lambert, and our very own Golden Gems. They were able to have a wonderful performance at St. Luke’s church. We also pretended to be at a tropical beach and sipping on Mock-aritas for National Margarita Day! We topped our drinks off with little festive umbrellas and some good ‘ol Jimmy Buffet.
We held a fun coloring contest and our winner was able to receive her very own adorable little valentine chocolate box, topped with a little teddy bear. We shared what we love most with a handmade “Love Tree” as both staff and residents wrote on a heart what they love. We kept our creative juices flowing with a relaxing session of painting with Jill, and Drawing with Spencer Drake, our Golden Gems Director.
We are so looking forward to March and kicking off, hopefully, a wonderful early spring. With Mardi Gras and St Patrick’s Day right around the corner, it’ll sure be a jolly month!!
