Comfort Today April look back

What a April we have had here at Comfort Today! We have really enjoyed this spring weather we have been getting. We had a great time walking to the rec room (enjoying the beautiful spring sights and sounds), and when we got to the rec room, we had even more fun playing pool and shuffleboard.

Normally, we clip coupons to donate to a local food pantry. This month, they asked us to make Easter baskets to be donated.  Our members always enjoy helping others.  We made our own assembly line, and put together thirty Easter baskets in one hour.  Everyone was amazed at how quickly we achieved our goal.

This month we celebrated Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day by having our own lunch with tomato soup, goldfish crackers, chips and dip, Rice Krispies treats, and of course, grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s always fun to change things up a bit (even if it’s with an old favorite like grilled cheese sandwiches)!

One of our favorite springtime holidays is Easter. This month, we enjoyed watching “It’s the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown, and making our own bunny masks with our Pre-K friends.

We also had a lot of fun celebrating Dyngus Day. We watched a DVD on Poland, and tried Chrusciki (which is a Polish Pastry) for the very first time.  Our Director is Polish, so she filled us in on all the Dyngus Day traditions.

Our last springtime activity was a presentation by the new owner of Peterson’s Candies. He talked about the history of the business, and how he became interested in taking it over.  The best part was the chocolate candy that he brought for us to sample.
