Comfort Today July Look Back
We have enjoyed such beautiful weather this month that we decided to shake things up a bit with an impromptu “I Love Lucy Tour”. We visited her birth home, childhood home, Celeron Park (to see the updated Lucy statue, and the “scary Lucy” statue), the five Lucy murals, and Lucy’s burial place (at the Lakeview Cemetery). We were all amazed at the eyelashes on Lucy‘s bronze statue, and met some new friends as we visited the cemetery.
Our members enjoyed time in the Louis Ferreri Park( while working on our trivia challenges). It is always fun to sharpen our cognitive skills, and enjoy the gentle breeze off the ponds in the park.
Comfort Today has such a beautiful courtyard, and we made use of it when our Tanglewood friends joined us to play a round of Croquet. There’s no better combination than sunshine, good friends, and a glass of lemonade as we have fun times together.
One of our members has been busy crocheting for a cause. This cause is “friendship”. She gave away her completed afghan because a good friend asked for it.
Our members had a wonderful time in the Louis Ferreri Park on the Fourth of July. We enjoyed sunshine, and the smell of Sahlen’s hot dogs cooking on the grill. A picnic isn’t the same without corn on the cob, potato chips, and strawberry shortcake. A big thank you to our Dietary department for helping to make holidays so special for us!
Comfort Today had some fun times on our first-time outing to tour some of the Amish shops in Conewango. We ended the tour at the Valley View Cheese Factory. We had a great time, made some neat purchases, and look forward to a repeat visit.
We ended the month with our “Senior Olympics Week”. We look forward to this every summer, and get our competitive juices flowing as we try to be the Olympic winner of the Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal.
