Comfort Today August look back
It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end; it seems as if it just began. We had planned three separate outings to have a picnic in the park (after we finished our bi-monthly walk), but because it always rained on our picnic day, we started a new tradition of having our picnic in the middle of the mall (after our walk).
The rain also got us a little soggy for our annual BBQ, and Fishing Tournament in the Louis Ferreri Park. The black clouds passed us over several times, but the final time wasn’t a threat, and delivered all the rain that we could handle.
Our members were excited as we boarded the Chautauqua Belle for our first-time historic tour on the Belle. The trip did not disappoint, we had beautiful weather, and saw many interesting sites (one of the being a Bald Eagle in flight). The staff was very attentive, and the historic part of the tour was very informative. We will definitely plan to go again.
Comfort really enjoyed a visit to the Lakewood Farmer’s Market. The market offered a variety of items such as honey, baked goods, produce, craft items, and fresh produce. We purchased some yummy peanut butter cup brownies (that we enjoyed later that day while playing Scrabble at the Lakewood Library). A great time was had by all!
We know that summer is coming to an end as we enjoy our last concert of our Summer Concert Series, and enjoy the smells coming from our End of the Summer BBQ. We have enjoyed all the fun times that we have had in the Louis Ferreri Park this year!
