Tanglewood Manor September Look Back

Fall is finally upon us and all the good times it brings are as well. September was a busy month filled with Fall fun and celebration.

Tanglewood Manor officially said hello to fall this September with a Labor Day Social gathering to kick off the month. We snacked on Barbeque meatballs, chips and dip, and brownies. Not a single bite of food was left over and the conversation and gathering of friends made it a memorable afternoon.

Next on the agenda, Tanglewood regulars and favorites, Bart and Bumpy came by to entertain us with familiar country songs and lighthearted jokes and stories, the very reasons we love their visits so much! The King’s Express were the next music group to fill the halls of Tanglewood with their music followed by Lucille Shurkus, the Lambert family, Michael Dennehy, and Rick Bruening. Needless to say there was no shortage of music to enjoy in September!

We were all over town with a Walmart outing, a trip to Dollar Tree, a final ice cream trip of the summer to 50s Diner where residents enjoyed a sweet treat. We had an indoor campfire and sing along led by Spencer Drake, our Golden Gems Director. But the day wouldn’t have been complete without the three different flavors of smores we all got to enjoy!

To close out the month, we had a Finally Fall Social to commemorate the first official day of Fall. We celebrated with cinnamon swirl cake and apple cider. We also ended the month with our monthly ladies tea party with mini blueberry and strawberry pies, made by our very own Tanglewood Manor baking group!

We definitely enjoyed the last few sunny, warm days and are certainly sad to see them getting fewer and farther between. Despite this, we are ready for more Fall fun and all the Halloween activities to come!
