Tanglewood Manor August Lookback
August has come and gone, and the year continues inching closer and closer to the chill of winter’s embrace. Before that day arises, we at Tanglewood Manor, are making the most of the ending days of summer, as it verges into a colorful autumn.
The golf-cart rides through the campus really allow the residents to fully embrace the natural wonders that are around us in Chautauqua County.
This past August was a very active month for Tanglewood! From our annual Fishing Tournament on the 19th, to various crafting groups that had the residents make DIY air fresheners, pipe cleaner flowers, and sun-catchers. To various baking groups that had the residents bake chocolate chip cookie cake, coffee cake, pistachio jello-o dessert, and watermelon rice-Krispy treats.
Musical performances for the month included Rick Bruening and Dan Vogan. Though the pandemic has truly thrown a monkey wrench into programming country-wide, we are lucky enough to have facilities that can continue to accommodate wonderful musicians during these tough times. Our residents can continue to listen and watch from a safe distance while the musicians can perform from the pavilion on the pond.
Outside of the highlighted events, the various month-to-month mainstays were continued, and our residents show continuing enjoyment for the diverse programming offered here. Mary S. hosts various music activities, including the famed Golden Gems every Wednesday, as well as the incredibly talented Chimes every week. Physical activities included bowling, dice darts, target golf, shuffleboard, corn hole, and much more.
Going forward into September, we are looking to adjust to the cooling weather, and to make the stay for our residents the best that it can be, despite the ongoing circumstances globally. And we hope that someday soon, things return to a relatively normal state, and our residents can begin enjoying Chautauqua county again to its fullest extent!
