Comfort Today October Look Back
As the leaves begin to change, we start to layer our clothes, and look forward to spending more time indoors enjoying comfort foods, and looking forward to the fall holidays.Speaking of food, we had our first outing to Ruby Tuesday for lunch this month. We were fortunate that they had specials, so that we could all sample the salad bar with our choice of entrée. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, and will plan another return visit again soon.
We have been busy working on some hand-made craft items, and some baked goods to sell at the Fall Rock & Shop Vendor show. Everyone has been busy baking, crocheting, and working on gift tags to label our items for the show. All the proceeds will benefit our Resident Christmas Fund.
We celebrated National “It’s My Party Day” with a Polka Dot Party which included pizza (the pepperoni was the polka dots), polka dot cupcakes, and ice cream for dessert. A big thank you goes out to all of our members that wore pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Check out our group photo on Facebook.
We were fortunate to enjoy spending time with some of our OTA students from JCC. They gave us a very informative presentation on Fall Prevention, and helped with our games and activities. Thanks again Daisy and Tiffany! We have enjoyed playing all of our “Halloween themed” games like Ghost Bowling, Roll a Pumpkin game, Pumpkin Bean Bag Toss, Roll and Color the Candy Corn game, Halloween Hangman, and Ring the Witch’s Hat game.We always look forward to our Zion Pre-K friends, but we especially enjoyed their Costume Parade this month.
