Memory Care Household October Look Back
The Memory Care Households at Tanglewood Manor have certainly enjoyed all the fall and Halloween fun October has brought us! The residents certainly dove right into all the crafts, parties, and activities that came along with the holiday.
Graveyard pudding cups and mummy oatmeal cookies were just two of the treats we made and enjoyed in our baking group. Bats, ghosts, and painted pumpkins throughout the units showcased our crafting talents while also getting us into the Halloween spirit!
An outing to to Eckloff’s bakery was the perfect Autumn day out. A sweet treat, warm coffee, and sunny ride that gave us the opportunity to admire the changing leaves and to enjoy a lovely day with friends. Back at home we spent lots of time enjoying each other’s company and playing our usual favorite games, JINGO, kerplunk, Bingo, memory and hangman. We kept moving also with games such as ladder ball, corn hole, and balloon volleyball.
We had many musical guests this month, each one bringing their own style and variety of music for us to enjoy, many performing some Halloween favorites. Musical guests, the Larsen family stopped by and performed for us, followed by Russ Keiser and Nan Hoffman. Later in the month, Bart and Bumpy stopped by. These are some of our regular musical guests and also our favorites. We also enjoyed some new music from the ladies of the Chautaqua Shores acapella choir. Lots of laughter could be heard as the ladies performed comedic skits to go with their music. A great time was had by all and we hope to see them again very soon!
We finished out the month with a day full of Halloween celebration. A day filled with treats, costumes, little trick-or-treaters, and fun brought the month to a perfect close! If it will be anything like this Halloween season, we are so excited for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays will bring!
